FAQs

All of McCaul Goldsmiths’ jewellery is designed, made and set in-house at our atelier on London’s Exmouth Market.

McCaul Goldsmiths are traditionally trained goldsmiths and diamond setters and make all jewellery to exacting standards.

Our signature design style is evident throughout our collections and we take on a wide variety of commissions including more traditional designs. Speak to us if you’re interested in having a piece of jewellery made.

We can source gemstones for you. If you have an idea for a commission in mind please advise us in advance and we can prepare a selection of gemstones for you to view.

McCaul Goldsmiths Ltd will not knowingly sell conflict diamonds and to the best of our ability we will undertake reasonable measures to help prevent the sale of conflict diamonds in this country.

It is also possible to reuse gemstones from existing jewellery. If you are interested in using your own gemstones or reworking a piece of existing jewellery then please get in touch to discuss options.

Fairtrade and Fairmined gold can be sourced for custom made jewellery and commissions if required. Standard UK hallmarks will apply.

Please allow a minimum of 6 weeks for commissions to be made once the final designs have been agreed.

All jewellery will be packaged in our signature McCaul gift boxes.

To keep your jewellery in optimum condition we offer a free annual clean and check-up service for all of our jewellery. Just drop in to see us if you would like your McCaul jewellery cleaned and check our Jewellery Care page for some easy tips and tricks you can do at home.

Delivery

We offer worldwide shipping on all items. All deliveries are sent via an insured, trackable service and will require a signature upon delivery.

UK deliveries are sent via a next day service.

Deliveries to Europe and the rest of world will take longer and vary depending on the destination. Please contact us for further information and advise us if your order is required urgently.

Orders from outside the European Union are not subject to VAT (20% sales tax), this will be deducted from the order total at checkout.

Deliveries outside of the UK may be subject to import taxes that will be determined by the customs agency in your country upon arrival. You may receive a second invoice from the shipping agent for these fees prior to delivery.

Please bear in mind that once the delivery arrives in your country there may be delays due to customs handling and processing which are outside of our control.

Returns and Exchanges

Commissioned (custom made) jewellery, or jewellery that has been adjusted for the customer cannot be returned or exchanged unless previously agreed in writing. Any requests for return of these items will be considered on an individual basis.

All deposits for commissioned jewellery are non-refundable.

Jewellery ordered online may be returned for exchange, credit or refund within 14 days of purchase. To be eligible for return the item must be unworn and in its original condition free of any marks or scratches.

Christmas Orders: Orders placed between November 15th, and December 25th can be returned for a full exchange up until January 31st, provided they are returned unworn, and in its original condition free of any marks or scratches.

It is essential that you contact McCaul Goldsmiths prior to any return to obtain authorisation and agree a shipping method.

Terms and Conditions of Sale

The terms and conditions listed below do not affect your statutory rights.

All items remain the property of McCaul Goldsmiths until payment is made in full.

Outstanding balances and payments on commissioned items must be paid in full 14 days from notification given by McCaul Goldsmiths Ltd.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order at our discretion.

Orders will be fulfilled subject to stock availability. If an ordered item is not available any money paid will be refunded to the purchaser. McCaul Goldsmiths are not liable for any compensation or damages resulting from non-supply of goods.

Privacy Policy

McCaul Goldsmiths are committed to protecting your privacy. We will never share your details with a third party for marketing purposes. We use SSL encryption technology to protect your personal data online.

Payment options

Online payments supported by Worldpay

Payments are made via the Worldpay secure online payment system .

Card details are not recorded by McCaul Goldsmiths, and no card information is stored on McCaul Goldsmiths servers or databases.

Payment methods accepted include:
